On the Move for January 2006
Julie Gassner of MTC Works in Astoria is pleased to announce the addition of Susie Godsey as manager of the Tillamook office for the firm. Susan Giles Godsey was born in New England, but "started moving west in college." "I married a college pal," she continued, " and moved to Denver. We left there in 1978 for the Bay Area, " which is where she met David Godsey. "I sat next to his mother in the church choir and we were married in 1980, moving here in 1992." For years, David Godsey was the proprietor of a nature shop in Nehalem, while Susie has been doing medical marketing analysis and consulting since 1984. Four or five years ago she began working as an independent consultant to the Tillamook Futures Council putting together public meetings and forums for the non-profit foundation. She worked four years in community development and "then, just a couple of weks ago I decided it was time for a full time job. I know a lot of people in the county and thought, this thing at MTC sounds like a really good fit. I like the idea of helping people find decent jobs. That is the bottom line: Without a decent job and income, people are going to be stuck. It is a problem in our rural counties. The nice thing about this job is that I have a lot of experience and management people skills, but I also have a strong sense of coaching and managing. I want to feel at the end of the day that I am making a difference." She begins her job with MTC in Tillamook County on January 17. You may reach her after that date at 503-842-3244. Congratulations, Susie! |
