If
you want to talk about a person who has a good relationship with
her clients, let's discuss Debbie Joslyn. Three years ago, Debbie
married a family member of one of her vacation rental clients.
Debbie was born and raised in Portland but has spent the last
20 years at the coast. During her high school years she began
spending her summers at the Cannon Beach Conference Center, which
is where she originally met her first husband, Bill Henry.
Arch Cape Property Services began with the help of Cannon Beach mentor Jean Williams, and the desire by Bill , now deceased, to branch out on his own in the construction, landscaping and gardening business. They started by managing 6 homes and the company currently manages 19. "Twenty is my limit," said Debbie. "I want to keep our business quality-oriented, rather than concentrating on quantity." Now with the help of people like Carol Johnson and Carl and Wendy Sandeen, and Debbie provide non-smoking environments for vacationers, family reunions, special gatherings, wedding parties, business retreats, romantic getaways or simply some secluded relaxation. Also in the business is Bob Joslyn, whom Debbie married three years ago.
Bob Joslyn is from Simi Valley, California where he had a big
job: He spent time rebuilding freeways after earthquakes. The
smog and other bad stuff finally got to him, though and for health
reasons, he moved up to be near his grandmother's beach home.
He got to know Debbie's two sons from her previous marriage and
now, he's a member of the family, working in the home-based property
management business, Arch Cape Property Services.
The properties stretch from Arcadia Beach, just south of Cannon
Beach, to Falcon Cove, just north of Manzanita. Some accept pets,
some don't and some advise they will only accommodate adults.
Most properties are descriptively named, such as Kindley Beach
House, Hill Top View House and Arch Cape Delight. Arch Cape Property
Services will provide linens, starter supplies of paper and soaps,
cable TV and VCRs, and a cleaning service upon departure.
Reservations require a deposit. Seasonal rates and discounts are
offered. They will accept personal or company checks as well as
money orders, but not credit cards. LCB
