Even
when Lumber-men's was still Cannon Beach Lumber (Yes, I still
slip and call it that occasionally, don't you?), then owner Ken
Clark had envisioned a consolidated superstore at the junction
of Highways 101 and 26. That dream is becoming reality.
On March 27, 2000 two additional buildings will join the Lumbermen's
Building Center and warehouse already located there. The buildings
are 12,000 square feet each. The front building will contain hardware
items from the Cannon Beach store, the 2nd building will allow
lumber stock to move inside, under cover.
Contractors working on the project include: Builders Inc., general
contractor from Hillsboro, Oregon; Whitney Architect from Gresham;
HLB & Associates Inc., surveyors from Seaside/Gearhart; Carlson
Testing Lab from Salem will do concrete work; Adapt Engineering
from Portland is performing soil testing; Larson Construction
from Seaside did site preparation and septic work; electrical
work is provided by Hillsboro Electric; plumbing by Ryan Osburn
Plumbing of Seaside; Complete Insulation, Seaside; Envision Painting

on the entries; Hazen & Johnson is providing interior cabinetry;

Personnel fills in as needed. Not reported in the printed piece
was A-1 Ready Mix providing the concrete. We apologize for the
oversite.
