On The Move for April 2000

On February 22, 2000, Jim Wills became acting postmaster in Seaside, Oregon. Wills was born in the Portland area and has worked with the U.S. Postal Service for 14 years, the last three as supervisor in Astoria. He replaces postmaster Ron Downey who is working on an extended project elsewhere in the postal system. Congratulations and welcome Jim!


George P. Stacey has been awarded the Certified Residential Specialist designation by the Council of Residential Specialists, a non-profit affiliate of the National Association of Realtors. George is an associate with Coldwell Banker/Kent Price Realty in Seaside, a member of the Clatsop Co. Board of Realtors, the Seaside Chamber of Commerce, the Seaside Downtown Development Association and the Sons of the American Legion.

John Pomplin, is the new operations manager for Pacific Power Clatsop Operations. Pomplin started March13, transferring from Coos Bay, where he worked for 5 months as interim manager. He has worked for Pacific Power for 10 years, starting as a lineman in Grants Pass, Oregon. Pomplin is from Northern California, settling here after being a commercial fisherman in Alaska for five years. At the Warrenton office of Pacific Power, he will be in charge of all operations, until transition team makes final personnel decisions about the transition to new owners, Scottish Power. The end of the transition period will occur the latter part of May or first of June, 2000.
Scottish Power merged with Pacific Power beginning in the fall of 1999. Scottish Power serves England, Scotland and the seven western United States of Washington, Oregon, Utah Idaho, Montana and California. The California operation is currently for sale.
